Director, Employee Experience

Edith Pencil is a passionate Human Resources Leader with over two decades of diverse experience in the retail automotive industry, including more than ten years dedicated to Human Resources. As the Director of Employee Services (Head of Human Resources) for Performance Auto Group (PAG), a leading retail automotive group in Ontario, Edith oversees the human resources function for 38 dealerships, 5 collision centres, and a workforce of more than 2,000 employees.

A passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion, Edith is the visionary behind PAG’s women’s network, Women Who Drive Performance and is the recipient of the inaugural 2023 Women Driven Leadership Award by the Motor Vehicle Retailers of Ontario (MVRO).

Edith is also a Co-founder, Board Member and Executive Chair of People Experience of Accelerate Auto, a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the representation of Black talent in the automotive sector.

Edith’s commitment to fostering inclusive workplaces extends beyond her own organization. Her insights and leadership have made her a sought after voice in discussions on workplace inclusion and talent development. She is actively involved in industry advisory committees, moderates and hosts DEI-focused panels and discussions, and is often found speaking at industry conferences and events.

Edith’s journey into the automotive industry began in her youth, sparking a deep, life long passion for the industry. She is dedicated to promoting automotive career paths, particularly among students, women, and visible minorities. Her commitment to mentoring the next generation of talent is reflected in her active involvement with various educational initiatives and community outreach programs.

Edith holds an undergraduate degree in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management from the University of Toronto. She also earned two professional designations: Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) and Certified Talent Management Practitioner (CTMP). A strong believer in continuous learning, she remains a steadfast advocate for professional development in herself and others.
