Edith Pencil is a senior HR leader with nearly 25 years of retail automotive experience at Performance Auto Group, including 12 years in HR leadership. She currently serves as Director of Employee Services, leading the human resources function and people strategy for a workforce comprised of 39 dealerships, 5 collision centres and 2,200+ employees.
A passionate advocate for career development, Edith is known for empowering individuals to take ownership of their career journeys through mentorship and leadership. She is a sought-after speaker and moderator on inclusion, women’s empowerment, talent management, and career development, and regularly speaks to students and early talent about careers in the automotive industry, drawing from her own journey starting in automotive as a high school student.
Through her leadership and community involvement, Edith is committed to helping individuals navigate their careers with clarity, confidence, and purpose. She is a co-founder and Board Director of Accelerate Auto and Executive Sponsor of PAG’s Women Who Drive Performance network, championing greater representation and advancement within the automotive industry. Edith is also the recipient of the inaugural Women Driven Leadership Award from the Motor Vehicle Retailers of Ontario, recognizing her impact as a leader in the automotive industry.
Edith holds an undergraduate degree in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management from the University of Toronto. She also holds two professional designations: Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) and Certified Talent Management Practitioner (CTMP). A strong believer in continuous learning, she remains a steadfast advocate for professional development in herself and others.
