Gillian Bilton

Gillian is an accomplished senior HR professional with over 14 years of HR/LR experience in the hospital/healthcare sector. Gillian is also an actively practicing lawyer and serves as legal counsel for employment and labour matters while also wearing her Director of Talent Services hat, overseeing the Labour Relations, Occupational Health and Wellness, and Pension & Benefits teams at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). Gillian spent most of her career to-date with The Ottawa Hospital, where she served these same functions, as well as designed and managed their Conflict-of-Interest program and the HR legal compliance strategy. Gillian brings a practical, realistic, yet reasonably measured approach to risk and strategy, ensuring her clients are comfortable and well- informed with strategic decisions. Employee engagement and wellness are passions of Gillian’s, especially in a post-covid era with such a dynamic and unique workforce demographic that can be difficult to recruit and retain. Gillian also loves fitness and thoroughly enjoys playing women’s hockey on her spare time.
